Sponsors of the Festival The sponsorship and private donations were the only sources covering the expenses for the organization of the A. S. Pushkin Festival, while the organization was carried by the Department of Russian Language and Literature at CSULB, backed by “Russian Foundation,” and backed by the Long Beach-Sochi Sister City Association. The sponsors and donators were honored with “golden sponsorship certificate” for all contributions, or an equivalent in services of $2,000 or more; with “silver sponsorship certificate” for all contributions, or an equivalent in services, from $500 to two thousand dollars, and with “bronze sponsorship certificate” for all of those who donated from $100 to five hundred. Of course, smaller donations were also notified with thanks and gratitude. The University Library at CSULB was the first significant contributor that earned the golden sponsorship award, and its Dean, Roman V. Kochan, was the most valuable supporter of the Festival’s organization with overall contribution of $3,000.
| Another golden sponsor became the Russian major airline “Aeroflot” by giving 50% discount on air fares for five artists and guests traveling from Moscow to the Festival, which represented a value of $3,370 at the time of purchasing tickets.
| “Sea Launch Company LLC”, an international partnership of American, Russian, Ukrainian and Norwegian businesses that provides a heavy lift launch service for commercial customers, is highly appreciated as corporate silver sponsor.
| We highly appreciated another corporate silver sponsor, the “Panorama”, an LA based Russian language newspaper and media group.
| Also, highly appreciated are personal silver sponsors, Mr. Ronnie Robinson – designer of the poster, flyer, letterhead and web site, Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Orloff, Mrs. Beverly August, Mrs. Irene Berkley, Mr. Steve Ingistov, Mrs. Gail Hutton and Mrs. Lya Levy. | We highly appreciated corporate bronze sponsor, The “Long Beach-Sochi Sister City Association.”
| Also, highly appreciated are personal bronze sponsors Mrs. Desa Tomasevic-Wakeman, Mrs. Nina Antoville, Mr. Dan Radovich, Mrs. Helen Polhovsky-Congleton, Mr. & Mrs. Dragisa Blagojevic, Mr. & Mrs. Yousef, Miss Maria Mirolioubova and Mr. Charles Pomeroy. | Also, it would be unfair to neglect contributions from members of the “Russian-Serbian Friendship Society of America” – Mr. Alexander Yahontov (President), Dr. Veljko Zivkovich, Mr. & Mrs. Dragoljub Djurkovic, Mr. Miodrag Nikolic, Mr. George Medic and Mrs. Jovanka Radivojevic, while they demonstrated sincere appreciation of the Pushkin’s genius whose impact on Serbian and entire Slavic literature was far from negligible.
